It’s Official – Florida Panhandle Vacation Rentals Are Opening

May 19, 2020

Florida Panhandle Vacation Rental Managers received good news today when the office of Governor Ron DeSantis approved the reopening of vacation rentals in Bay, Escambia, Franklin, Gulf, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Wakulla, and Walton Counties.

The Governor announced Friday, May 15th that Vacation Rentals within the state of Florida could reopen provided each county submit a plan outlining how they would safely reopen for travelers. Panhandle officials swiftly drafted and submitted plans over the weekend. These plans had to meet the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations Guidelines and included a variety of items including guidelines for reservations, health and safety of guests, and cleanliness of the property to name a few. Restrictions were also included to disallow travelers from national COVID-19 hotspots like Louisiana, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, and New York, as well as any international travelers.

With Memorial Day weekend quickly approaching remaining Florida VRM’s are eagerly anticipating plan approvals in counties across the state.
